Last few from 2014

I’ve been back from holiday for over a week and I have not recovered fully. This feels like it did last year, but I will try and not make the same mistake of not uploading the photos I took of our holiday. This means I have two years worth of Christmas and New Year photos to edit and upload, hopefully before next Christmas!

In the meantime, here are some of the last few photos I took in Dubai before we left for our holiday. We visited the Ripe Market finally, and on a very busy day too as the Beat The Diabetes Walk was happening that day. I only bought manuka honey this time around, but I did join the open air yoga session and a bit of the acro yoga, which I loved so I must attend again soon.

And this is just a random panorama of the moon hanging over Al Quoz. I was waiting for someone and had the camera with me and the moon was just there against the clear blue sky.

A few days before we left, I had the priviledge of visiting the studio of one of the most vibrant personalities I have ever met in Dubai: Maria Iqbal. yes, that’s the one! Popart diva extraordinaire, Maria. We met briefly during a Sewcial Thursday event at reMADE DXB about a year ago and have kept in touch sort of on social media. I kept telling Maria that I would love the opportunity to phorograph her and her beautiful creations and finally she set up a meeting. Here is a peek at her Al Quoz studio – a haven for anyone who adores handmade art.

I had a wonderful time at Maria’s studio, taking photos of her work and browsing through the fabulousness of it all. As a thank you, Maria gave me this one-of-a-kind Minion satchel! It’s all mine! Thank you, Maria, mwah!

Winter in Dubai gives seriously gorgeous sunrises! That is all.

And the moon refuses to leave because it also wants to see the beautiful sunrise every day.

Of course, the sunset would not be far behind! This is the view from our side of the office. It would be more beautiful after the window cleaners come in.
