Light as sunbeams

At the beginning of the year, I got involved with the Fingerless Glove Fanatic group on Ravelry. The group knits and crochets, well, fingerless gloves, and they hold monthly KACALs of both free and paid patterns. I thought my library of fingerless glove patterns is extensive enough as it is, but I was happy to have discovered some truly gorgeous gems of designs, including Ghislaine by Sara Varty.

This is my version of it in a lovely lemon chiffon colourway by Squoosh Fiberarts in the 100% superwash merino sock base. Thanks again, Ruth for modelling them for me. I used very little yarn, just over 155 yards for the pair. I made the top part rather long as I like to cover my digits, but it didn’t really affect yarn consumption all that much.

It’s rather dainty and I think knitted in lighter yarn with maybe a touch of angora or alpaca or even mohair, something with a bit of halo, would make it a real pretty accessory for any young lady. The lovely picot edges finish them off nicely. I haven’t made any fingerless gloves in a while owing to summer officially arriving in Dubai, and I guess that’s why I delayed taking photos of these for as long as I have. I can’t wait to start using this pair when it gets cooler again.
