Last weekend, the kids suddenly decided to go to the beach. We had nothing planned anyway and sometimes spur-of-the-moment stuff is so much better than things that you plan right down to the second. It was good to get out of the house, and see this sunset too!
I confess that I am not a beach person. I can only tolerate it so much. I love the sand and crushed shells between my toes, and the first dip in the water is always nice. But it gets sticky afterwards and uncomfortable. Throw me into a swimming pool anytime! Just not at the deep end please.
Yes, it was at the quiet of the public beach in Mamzar so the family was able to do all silly stuff like jumping up off the water for me several times so I can take their picture. It was worth it. Plus the other beach bods got free entertainment.
The kids swore there were little fishies around their feet and there was even a bunch of crabs, apparently. I wasn’t there so I can’t vouch for them. But there were plenty of shells along the shore and in the shallows, including this one Bernie picked up which had these tiny shells stuck to the bigger shell. All alive and moving!
I sat back down to our mats and knitted and took photographs. I really don’t like saltwater.
The moon was visible but I didn’t have a long lens with me. The kit lens did an okay job I think, if only my hands were more steady.
Eibee loves the Live View on the camera! She’s been taking lots of self-portraits with it and they are not bad. Except when I am in them!
Both college kids enjoyed the day out. It was good to be out in fresh air, and even more that it is still not hot and humid!
A couple more Eibee selfies coming up. I have no idea what’s happening here.
When the sun came down, I decided to prop up the tripod and take some photos of the scene across the beach. But then it was also a good opportunity to do some family photos. First up, the kids. I really like the way this turned out.
And then the family, minus Viel. We miss you so much!
I also took a few of Joseph. He said he needed some new cover and profile photos for his Facebook page. I think they’re okay.
This weekend it’s a quiet one, just lunch out and maybe a bit of a stroll at the Festival City. Enjoy your weekend, everyone!
All of the shots are great and you’re still rockin’ your new hair – love! The one of only the kids with the skyline in the back reminds me of an album cover for some band. Your current weekend sounds like mine, enjoy π
