From Down Under

Pretty pretty.

Don’t let the humble brown paper bag fool you. Inside this old thing are two skeins of my very first Skein Yarn stash. All the way from Down Under. Exclusive yarn club colours too.

Wanna see what’s inside?

Ta-dah!
Same base as my Squishy.

This is Top Draw Sock (4ply, 85% superwash merino/15% nylon, 437 yards/100g).  On the left is Kelp and on the right in Sea Glass. Can’t wait to knit these up. Socks for one of them definitely. I’ve always admired Skein’s random variegated colourways. They never pool or stack and the colours always work well together even though you look at it on the skein and go “Huh?”, or squee depending on your preferences.

Anyway, I’ll leave you to stare some more at the pretty before I kick myself silly.

PS: Photos are taken with my iPhone using the app Camera+. Best $0.99 ever spent.

  1. Drooling at this colorway, I love the unexpected bits of mossy green! I’ve had Skein on my wanna-have list for ages…. if only I wasn’t on a yarn diet, sigh!
