I knew putting the Expedit shelf next to the sofa was a bad idea.
It’s handy, oh yes, and that’s where I put things I need for when I’m knitting. Easy to reach. Naturally there is a pile of WIPs in project bags and patterns I printed out to read and consider for the queue which has grown on top of it. It is daunting to say the least. The latest addition in that pile is this skein of Wollmeise Sockenwolle 80/20 Twin, colourway Bussi. I reckon I have enough yardage to allow for a larger Magrathea shawl, maybe 31 repeats if I can manage it.
Another shawl on the WIP pile, actually not started yet, is this beaded Annis for my sister. She wanted a brown shawl and I thought I’d overcome the fear of beads and use them this time. Stringing was a lot of fun. Not! I hope to finish this in time for her return from holiday in August. I am worried that pushing the beads along to get enough yarn to knit the first 9 or so rows of the shawl would damage it.
More gift knitting and this one is for my niece. It’s a summer dress which I had hoped to finish before they go on holiday but there are more pressing matters. anyway, this is done a bit larger so she can grow into it. It’s pink but a bit muted than her usual pink so I hope she will still like it.
This is the project I am working on non-stop, if I can. It’s the Hemlock Ring Blanket for Nash which I hope to finish by Friday so that my sister can take it home to him. The organic cotton is so lovely to work with. I have 12 skeins and still only just on the second skein now so I think I can make this as large as I could, time permitting of course.
FO post soon. I have the ankle socks to show you.
