These beautifully braided skeins of yarn were one of the first ones I bought when I realised you could buy yarn online. This is from Make One Yarn Studio. The yarn is just wonderful to work with, so soft and smooth.
I carried this project with me everywhere since I hope to finish it in time for my brother’s trip home. This vest along with the hats and maybe a couple more baby items will be travelling to baby Nash.
For a second, I considered using amigurumi eyes for the owls but then decided to sew them on with black yarn instead. Don’t want my baby grandson to choke! They look alright, don’t they? not at all freaky and scary?
Project: Hoots! (Raveled!)
Pattern: Owl Baby Vest by Jodi Haraldson
Needle: 3.5 mm
Yarn: Classic Elite Yarns Premiere, colourway Meadow Grass. I used the black Bunny Hop to sew on the eyes.
Notes: Quick quick quick! So easy to knit. I didn’t swatch but it looks great. I might just knit another one, but plain, no owls. And maybe slightly larger size. And stripes!
So beautiful! I hope to be able to do this someday!
