It’s no secret that I love Carrie and her designs. I love getting emails from her requesting to test knit a new design. It means I get to see it before everyone else and get to have an input, where needed, on the design. Well, not that there have been any cases where Carrie’s original draft design needs any tweaking.
Anyway, she has recently redesigned her design business and the above banner was created for her by the talented Knitterella. You would recognize her work in Never Not Knitting’s pattern layouts, adverts for della Q, logos for Plucky Classics, Plucky’s Little Black Collection, Through the Loops and now Irish Girlie Knits Designs!
Carrie recently launched the IGK group in Ravelry and within a short period of time, the membership has grown so much. There are so many knitters out there who have met Carrie in person and have known her for a while either in real life or through her blog or Ravelry. I am one of the latter. But so priviledged to be able to test knit for her, and from time to time acquire some of her yarns through her regular destash cycles.
Carrie asked me if I would help her co-mod the group, and I said yes. It can only be fun, right? So the day came when she invited me to the group and it just went off like a roller coaster ride. There is a Spring KAL happening right now for her Sweet Home Socks design. There’s an ongoing FO and WIP contest and I am sure this is just the beginning.
As part of her label re-design, Carrie had these tote bags with her logo made. She offered a few for sale and I immediately placed an order. One can never have too many tote bags esp if one has too many WIPs to carry around. The bag arrived in Dubai at the end of March. And this is what it looked like.
Oh but wait. Inside were an IGK notecard with a message from Carrie and a writing pad from Knitterella that reads ” A knitter has to believe in something, I believe I’ll knit another row”. Plus a skein of Plucky Knitter Primo in Sticky Toffee. Yay!
This is a thank-you from Carrie which makes me even more glad to be helping out with the group as well as test knitting for her. She is just so sweet and generous. We both love Primo, who doesn’t, right?
It’s so gorgeous. I do believe this skein will become a pair of IGK socks soon. I have committed a skein to the current KAL but on the next one, I will use this yarn. I will have a pair of really squishy, super special socks! Thank you so much, Carrie. You are amazing.
If you haven’t already done so, why not check out the Irish Girlie Knits Design group over on Ravelry?
Awww….you are two sweet Jocelyn! I am loving our group and thank you for making it a fabulous place knitters want to hang out online!
Congratulations too Grandma!! So excited for you!! I think you’ll be excited for one or two of my upcoming new wee designs 🙂
