We finally have an LYS in Dubai!

This has been in the works for a few months now and behind the big push to get the craft section of Magrudy’s revamped is our very own fellow Amira, Jackie. Thanks to her, Magrudy’s now stock real yarn. It is no longer filled with the static of acrylic and the boring machine-dyed solid colours of Sublime among others. We now have Skein Queen, Manos del Uruguay, Artesano, Dream in Color and, just arrived, Mmmmalabrigo inclding the new superwash worsted Rios! Trust me, this is a very big deal for us here because we all shop mostly online and we’re glad that our LYS has sat up and paid attention to what we want.

On my first trip to the shop after the new shipment of yarn arrived, I picked up this skein of Dream in Color Classy, in the absolutely wonderful colourway called Absolute Magenta.


I am planning on knitting a hat with this one, and if there is leftover perhaps a matching pair of fingerless gloves. I love love the deep colour and cannot wait to work with this yarn again soon.

There is one more skein that came home with me that day, but that is for later. There will be more joining them soon since the Amiras are meeting this Friday, across the corridor from Magrudy’s! It will be mayhem.
