I am on track with my Super Special Six Pattern Sock Club for 2011. The first pair of socks (which is also my first ever Yarntini FO!) is done and I could not be happier with it.
This is the second time I have knitted this pattern and I love it even more, esp after hearing a lot of other knitters complain about the left twist. I mean, come on, it’s not like you have to bend over backwards to execute the stitch. Plus use your wild card FPS. I was tempted so many times to speak up in the forum but decided it was not worth it. Anyway, I love my golden honey socks, from the double long tail cast on down to the grafted toes – love love LOVE!
The heel, which reminds me of a dragon’s claws, remains my favourite part of the socks. It’s a simple 2-stitch purlwise slip but adds that extra texture to an otherwise plain stockinette heel flap. Thank you, Alice Yu for a wonderful and free pattern!
Project: Shur’tugal (Raveled!)
Pattern: Shur’tugal by Alice Yu (Socktopus) – did I mention it’s a free downloadable pattern?
Yarn: Yarntini Semi-solid Sock, colourway: Sweet Honeytini
Needles: 2mm for the cuff, 2.25 for the rest of the socks
Cast on: 1 January 2011
Cast off: 18 January 2011
Stashdown 2011 tally: 387 yards out
Mods: Decreased every other row on the toe 5x then decreased every row 8 times until I have 16 sts left.

I love these so much. The colour and pattern are perfect together. Adding this free pattern to my queue.

I hear lots of grumbling about left twists and nupps on the Rav forums! Sheesh!! Your Shur’tugals look lovely and sunshiny – love them!!
