I finished my third Koolhaas Hat.
It’s purple. It was supposed to be for me. But I used much smaller needles so I ended up with a child-sized version.
I still love it, of course! But the intended recipient has changed. My son is 7 and the hat just about fits on his head. He was surprisingly cooperative during this short photoshoot.
I used up the leftover Tosh DK from my hoodie. I love the Wisteria colourway. I wonder what it looks like in other bases?
My son loved the hat and has asked me to knit him a green one. In Socks That Rock. Would the lightweight be okay for this? Or is it too thin? I guess we’ll see when I cast on. This hat is dry and ready to be wrapped up for a Christmas present.
Project: Wisteria Koolhaas (Raveled!)
Pattern: Koolhaas Hat by Jared Flood
Yarn: Tosh DK, Wisteria colourway, used about 169 yards
Needles: 3.25mm for the ribbing, 4mm for the body
Cast on: 5 Dec 2010
Cast off: 18 Dec 2010
Notes: Knitted the pattern as written except on smaller needles.
He definitely suits that style of hat and he’s oh so cute 🙂
I’m sure the recipient will love it in Wisteria.
