After nearly 25years in the UAE, my mother-in-law left Dubai this morning to return home to the Philippines and enjoy a well-earned retirement.

We saw her off at the airport where I was surprised to see that at Terminal 3 they now have self check-in kiosks, which didn’t work for my MIL’s e-ticket btw, and most of the check-in counters have been converted into baggage drop-off points only.

Anyway, she arrived safely, just spoke to them back home. Departure from Dubai was delayed by an hour but they made good time. We’ll see her again in the summer, she’s coming over to visit.
