I dyed a few hanks last Sunday and these came out. Not entirely ecstatic about them but I know enough now not to judge colours as others might love them. I have not put these colours up on Etsy yet, maybe someone out there would like the colours and would like to reserve them first.
Okay then, colours here we come.
I have 4 skeins of Pure of Heart which is laceweight. Two of those skeins were dyed up in varying degrees of purple with random hints of green and even some brown. This colourway is unnamed.
Next we have what I call “Ink Blots“, in Pure of Heart as well. It’s a bluey-grey colournwith very subtle hints of purple. I think this would be a great shawl, maybe Haruni or even a laceweight Brandywine.
Since I mixed up some green, I decided to dye one skein of laceweight with just green. This is Jealousy, the green-eyed monster. It has some darker green in a few parts so if you don’t like variegation like this, this skein may not be for you.
My favourite yarn base is Faith, Hope and Love. It’s 50% silk, 50% merino in fingering weight. These two skeins are the fingering weight version of Ink Blots. I might dye up some more of this in sweater quantities because I think this would look good as Turmeric or Promenade.
The other 2 skeins were dyed with a bronzed orange colourway. It had flecks of rust in some places so it’s not entirely semi-solid. I can see this as a shawl or a scarf.
If you see any colours you like, give me a shout and I will be happy to reserve it for you. Alternatively, if there is a colour you would like me to dye for you, let me know and I will see what I can do.
Glad that you’ve got the dyepots out! That’s a gorgeous batch of yarn!
