This paper napkin from Caribou Cafe sums it all up nicely, doesn’t it?
I wholeheartedly agree, and doing my best now to live every moment. It’s difficult esp with all the years of mental conditioning coupled with the negative stimulus all around us. You can hardly be blamed for getting absorbed in the small details that you forget to live life.
But as they say in Dead Poets Society – Carpe diem!
So that’s what we did this weekend. We didn’t get holed up at home, we went out. It was required though as the fridge needed to be fed, as well as the kids! We did stay in on Friday only because my mother-in-law came by and prepared lunch for the family. On Saturday, the boys had their second to last session at the basketball clinic then we went to the Dubai Mall.
Eibee chillaxing at Caribou with a newly purchased manga. That was her reason for wanting to go to the Dubai Mall. Plus she said she wanted to buy a pen, which apparently can only be found at Kinokuniya.
Joseph was suffering since he had mouth ulcers again the size of Uranus. So he’s been quiet these past few days. He lets his face and eyes do the talking. Sometimes his pimples do that too! Ewww, Mama!, I hear Eibee say.
My little Patrick won’t let me lick his lips anymore when he smears chocolate spread all over. He says it’s because he’s not a baby anymore and is capable of cleaning himself up. I still sneak behind him when he least expects it and licks the stray bit of Nutella or whatever on his lips. What? Don’t tell me you don’t do that to your kids?
I give it another year or so before he starts actually shoving me away when I try to wipe his face clean or brush his hair in public.
Lots of knitting done this weekend. FO post soon.
