Yarn Candy

I have not bought yarn in a while and yesterday was the first time in a long time that the Aramex courier guy came in with a package from me. The STR trade with Liette does not count because well I didn’t buy it from her, we traded. Also the Loopy Ewe winner package does not count because I won those in a contest.

Anyway, what am I justifying myself for? It’s yarn!

My latest BMFA haul which was also the first time I used my RSC discount coupon included three skeins of yarn and the Gumdrop Socks pattern by JC Briar.
I have had my eyes on Sock Candy for a while, not sure if I really wanted cotton blend socks but having seen it in person at Debbie’s I kinda like it.

The put up is small which means you need two skeins for an adult-sized pair of socks. They only come in solid colourways and the Celery in a pale green hue was the only one that interested me.
I am now and always will be a mediumweight girl. I like how much more squishy it is and I get the exact gauge every time. I bought a skein of Mochaberry which I will knit up as Irishgirlieknits’s Blackberry Brambles. Isn’t it gorgeous?
I think I saw Turtlegirl76 knit up a modified pair of Gumdrops so I might have a look at that. I think this stitch pattern is perfect for the Riverbed architecture. I have no idea how to modify it though so will need to consult the experts. And when it comes to STrs and Cat Bordhi’s techniques, Cristi would be my go-to girl.

I brought my Sigma 70-300mm lens yesterday and took some random portraits of the girls at work. Here are a few of them.

Off to get some lunch and then wind up for the day. We have an Iftar dinner with the admin girls at the Arabian Courtyard.
