Button, button, where’s the button gone?

Ramblingroses may have roped me into joining the Malabrigo March Madness. And I’m not complaining one bit. I thought I had a good stash of Mallys but it turns out I don’t. If I weren’t on a diet, I’d remedy that right away esp as Nancy from Whitknits just received a rather sizeable shipment of crack Malabrigos.

Quickest knit ever. Talk about instant gratification! This is better than sex.

Project: The Power of Nine
Pattern: Hurricane Hat by Andrea Goutier
Yarn: Malabrigo Worsted in Orchid, I used only about half a skein for a full sized hat
Needle size: 4.5 mm using Magic Loop method

Cast off: March 6, 2009

The eye of the storm
From another angle. I love the darker bits of orchid-y colour.
I love those swirls of purl stitches!

In other WIPs, the February Lady Sweater is progressing albeit slowly. I just joined the 3rd skein of yarn (thakn God it looks like it’s the same dye lot!) and only about 3 rows away from casting off the bottom band. I will pick-up stitches for the sleeves before I go to bed tonight.

This afternoon I bought buttons for my Rockin’ February. I Googled for buttons and clicked the first link on the list. The Button Drawer looks good and I found what I was looking for: Celtic pewter buttons. Yay!

The first one is called Eternal Knot which will be for my FLS. This will be perfect against the blacks-blues-greens of my Corbie FLS.

And because I will be knitting a junior-sized FLS for my daughter Aibi soon, in STR Jasper, I picked up a similar button for her. This is Celtic Knot. They look different but the product description said they’re both 7/8″. I ordered 3 of each and hopefully they will not be flagged by Dubai post office.

To bloggers in the UAE, enjoy the long weekend!
