I really thought I could finish all seven this week. I should have anticipated extra hours at work and traffic and basically exhaustion. I need other colours though because these are all the yarn I have. I want secondary colours too but they didn’t have those at the shop in Manila. And there are no cotton yarns here in Dubai. š¦ I wonder if a wool/acrylic blend would work. Anyone?
Now I don’t know what V will do with these. Would she actually use them as washcloths? Or just keep them in her wardrobe never to see the light of day? I hope she’d show them off to friends and feel proud that her mama made them for her. š
From left to right: Lace Mesh Cloth, Seeded Diamond Cloth, Plaid Cloth and Basketweave Cloth. The pattern is a bit lost in the variegated yarn but I just love those colours. Reminds me of Baskin Robbins’ Rainbow Sherbet ice cream.
Detail of the Lace Mesh. I love this pattern! It was very easy to remember and it works like a charm. It could work in a vest or a sweater but I wouldn’t know where to start when modifying even the basic pattern.
Detail of the Basketweave. This is quite elementary but it makes a very nice finished material. The red does not show up well on camera so I didn’t take a photo but the pattern looks good too.
After this project I will start on the wristwarmers for my friends, I owe it not just to them but to myself. I will have to find time though because school is starting this week and I just know I will be up to my eyeballs in wrapping textbooks and notebooks and labelling everything. Not to mention adjusting the kids’ bedtime!
