I have been stashing The Plucky Knitter’s Primo yarn for a while. While that sounds bad, I actually only have 7 skeins in stash. One does not count because it was a gift from Carrie. When Carrie asked me to test knit a new shawl design in Plucky, I chose these two colourways: Sticky Toffee (her gift to me) and The Hills.

22 JulThis parcel arrived just in time. If you ask me, I think Dani bound this parcel with a spell so that it arrived just at the perfect time.

Eye-candy Friday
8 JulI cancelled three, yes count them – three, club subscriptions last week. That includes Sundara, Plucky Knitter and Yarntini. I feel so good. I have more than enough of these yarn brands to start an LYS or knit until my fingers fall off. However there are two clubs still running because a) I don’t have enough of those and b) MCN. Enough said.
Oh and this here is a spoiler warning photo. Not that any of you who read my blog are probably in the Indigodragonfly Smart Ass Knitters/World Domination Club, but you never know. Someone might stumble on this post by keying in “Indigodragonfly” as a search string and then blame me for spoiling them and then send me flaming emails and such. So just playing it safe. Don’t click the “Read More” below if you don’t want to be spoiled. By the way, Luca was “stalking” pigeons on the window sill.

WIP-tastic Monday
4 JulA friend said all this knitting time is the reason why I hurt my right wrist. Sounds about right. But I don’t remember forcing my right hand so much (I knit continental style) to cause the muscles to sprain. In any case, I rested it overnight and now it feels so much better.
I even managed to knit a few rounds of my second Summer Wind scarf. I rested every half round so my hand is alright. This is the only WIP I am going to show you because the others have not changed since last week. I am using BMFA Seduction in Blue Moonstone. Photo is taken using my iPhone so apologies for the crapiness. Incidentally, I destashed this skein from Carrie and now knitting it up in a pattern which she designed for a KAL in her own group in Ravelry.

Eye-candy Friday: the Tart-y edition
1 JulObsessed much?
Not really. When you know one thing is good, you just have to keep on having it. Madelinetosh’s Tart colourway is one of them. Remember these three beauties? That’s Eyre, DK and MCN Worsted all dyed up in the Tart colourway. Gorgeous, gorgeous!

Well, I am on a quest to get other Tosh yarn bases in the same colourway and I am nearly done with it. Want to see more? Follow me.

27 JunIf you had a skein of DK-weight yarn in this colourway, approximately 250 yards, what would you knit with it? This yarn is single ply, 52% superwash ultrafine Australian merino, 48% mulberry silk. The colours are, well, bright but humour me.

FO: Hemlock Ring Blanket
25 JunWhen I received news that I became a grandmother, the first thoughts I had was “Oh, yay, I should knit baby items!” Of course that was well after all the excitement, panic and concern. I have long admired this blanket on Ravelry but never really found the motivation to make it. Until now.
See, even Luca loves getting draped in its super softness? This was a couple of days ago when I felt like I was in a knitting marathon to finish the blanket.

Eye-candy Friday
24 JunIt cannot possibly be Friday again! I mean, I’m not complaining really because it means I have more eye-candy to show you. But, what happened to the other 6 days of this past week? Where did they go? I don’t remember having THAT much fun!
Well, a little fun maybe. Especially when this little package arrived. A nice little package of Sunshine ![]()

20 JunI knew putting the Expedit shelf next to the sofa was a bad idea.
It’s handy, oh yes, and that’s where I put things I need for when I’m knitting. Easy to reach. Naturally there is a pile of WIPs in project bags and patterns I printed out to read and consider for the queue which has grown on top of it. It is daunting to say the least. The latest addition in that pile is this skein of Wollmeise Sockenwolle 80/20 Twin, colourway Bussi. I reckon I have enough yardage to allow for a larger Magrathea shawl, maybe 31 repeats if I can manage it.

Eye-candy Friday
17 JunJust when I thought I was in the green with my stashdown, I get a few more club yarns which I have totally forgotten about! On the upside, it’s a nice surprise to get in the mail. This week’s stash enhancement, or stashdown fail depending on how you look at it, is courtesy of the awesome Natasha Sills of Gritty Knits.
This is from the first shipment of her Nom Club, MCN goodness and, oh look, first shipment is a double dose. I can hear my stashdown spreadsheet groaning at me. But look at these cheerful beauties!
