Since we spent Christmas at home this year, we decided to do a barbecue for New Year’s Eve. Pardon the two grumpy looking little people – they were fighting over whose turn it was on the bicycle.

The last night of 2010
2 JanA day at Dreamland
29 DecIn December, temperatures in the UAE dips down to as low as 16C with highs of 24C. That’s fairly cold in these parts. So anyone who goes down to any body of water, man-made or natural has got to be out of their mind!
Well, not if you are holding very valid Entertainer vouchers than mean you pay for 2 instead of 5 to get to a water theme park, right? Ri-ight. That’s what we did the other day. We were supposed to go camping for the night but it was too darned expensive so we opted for the day pass instead. We only have one tree up this year but it still looks very festive in the office.

Costumes are all over the place, Starbucks is serving spiced pumpkin latte again (which I think should be a year-round item on the menu anyway) and pumpkins, great big orange pumpkins are everywhere.
There and back again
27 MarIt doesn’t feel like it, but a couple of weeks ago I arrived in Manila. The trip was a short one, with the sole intention of picking up the kids and returning with them to Dubai for their summer holidays.
Those 10 days blurred into one another and just flew right by. Before I knew it, and after a bit of hiccup with the flights, we were on a plane and excitedly waiting to land in Dubai.
Now let’s see what actually happened while I was back home…
